This is another one to help you save money! Don’t waste money on expensive facial masks with chemicals that dry your skin or cause breakouts. These simple, inexpensive homemade facial masks will do the trick.
Nourishing Banana-Avocado Mask:
Mash half an over-ripe banana with half an over-ripe avocado. Combine with 2 tbsp unflavored full-fat yogurt and 1 tsp olive oil. Apply liberally to face and neck. Leave on for 20-30 minutes then rinse with warm water, splash with cold water to close the pores.
Exfoliating Tomato Lemon Mask
Blend 1 over-ripe tomato, 1 tsp lemon juice and 1 tsp oatmeal, puree until smooth. Apply to face and leave on for 20-30 minutes. Rinse with warm water, then splash with cold water.
Tightening Peach Mask:
Peel and pit 1 ripe peach. Blend the peach, 1 egg white and 1 tbsp unflavored full-fat yogurt until smooth. Pat gently onto face and let soak for 30 minutes. Rinse with cold water.
Smoothing Honey-Almond Mask:
Mix together 1 tbsp honey, 1 egg yolk, 1/2 tsp almond oil, 1 tbsp yogurt until well blended. Apply to face and let sit for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water. Wipe residue off gently with a cloth.
Oil Reducing Yeast-Yogurt Mask:
Mix 1 tbsp brewer’s yeast with 2 tbsp full-fat unflavored yogurt until it makes a paste. Apply to oily areas and leave on for no longer than 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water, then cold water and pat dry.
Moisturizing Chocolate Mask:
Mix 1 tbsp Cocoa powder, 1 tbsp heavy cream, 1 tsp cottage cheese, 4 tsp honey, 1 tsp oatmeal in a blender until well smooth. Apply onto face, let sit for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
Note: Some people have allergies, so make sure to test your mask out on a small part of the skin first. And everytime you wash your face or do a face mask you must follow it with a moisturizer!
